Alpha-Stim® is used for the management of stress, anxiety, insomnia and chronic pain. It works to normalise the chemical and electrical activity in your cells.

The body is made up of over 75 trillion cells. Each cell has electrical properties, much like that of a battery. The Alpha-Stim devices work by applying low-level pulsed electrical currents to either the body or brain.

Pacific Medistim says that the level of current used is very similar to the body's own natural current. It states that the devices generate a proprietary electrical waveform, which works to normalise the electrical and chemical activity of the cells within the body and brain.

The treatment is called Microcurrent Electrical Therapy (MET) or Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) when applied directly to the brain.

Pacific Medistim adds that it allows your body's cells to operate normally and bring you long lasting relief from stress, anxiety, insomnia and/or pain.

The company adds that it was developed in 1981 and has since provided relief for millions of people around the world, even when nothing else has worked for them.

Contraindications apply to using the device when pregnant or with people who have a cardiac pacemaker. Also, do not directly stimulate over the eyes or on the carotid sinus. If symptoms persist consult your health care professional.

Pacific Medistim Distributors Pty Ltd was established in 2007 for the purpose of importing and distributing Alpha-Stim® devices into the Australian and New Zealand market. 

Although this technology has been available in the USA and Europe for over 30 years, it was almost unknown in Australia. 



Roy Scott, the director of Pacific Medistim, felt that this therapy should be available to all Australians and New Zealanders, and sought to become the Australian and New Zealand Distributors of Alpha-Stim® range of products.

"We started as a family company and now have many distributors around Australia and New Zealand. In the short time that the company has been in business, Roy says he has taken much pleasure in hearing from patients who have gained relief from their anxiety, depression, insomnia and pain using the Alpha-Stim® technology.
