The Fred Hollows Foundation has launched its Christmas Gift of Sight campaign which enables people to purchase a special gift card for their loved ones that will help save sight in the developing world.

For as little as $25, Gift of Sight Christmas cards can be personalised and delivered directly to loved ones on someone’s behalf. The card will let the receiver know that a Gift of Sight has been given in their name and that they have contributed to changing a life forever.

“Some of the presents we buy for each other at Christmas time are almost forgotten by New Year’s Eve,” says Joe Boughton-Dent from The Fred Hollows Foundation.

“For the price of a pair of socks or a CD people can purchase something very special for loved ones. Your family, friends or colleagues will know on Christmas day that someone around the world has benefitted from their gift and has been given the gift of sight.”

“It’s a nice change away from some of the more material things that we might purchase for the people we love. Being able to give a gift to those less fortunate matches well with what Christmas is all about.”

Gift of Sight cards can be purchased online at www.hollows.org.au or by calling 1800 352 352.
